Borderlands 4’s first Story Pack brings C4SH and cosmic odds

Borderlands 4 is getting its first new playable Vault Hunter in the opening paid Story Pack. Revealed during the Borderlands 4 panel at Tokyo Game Show 2025, the character – C4SH – headlines Story Pack 1, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, which is planned to launch in Q1 2026. The add-on sends players to a new zone on Kairos and layers in main and side missions alongside fresh loot and cosmetics. The developers also outlined a broader post-launch cadence that mixes free updates with additional paid content.

Meet C4SH: a gambler built on chance

Once a casino dealer bot, C4SH now drifts across Kairos pursuing probability-defying eldritch artifacts. The Mad Ellie storyline leans into that theme with cosmic-horror encounters and curiosities that can tilt the odds his way. He is playable as part of Story Pack 1.

Action Skills built for risk–reward

C4SH follows Borderlands 4’s class structure – three unique Action Skills and three skill trees, each split into three branches of passives and Action Skill tweaks. His kit is intentionally unpredictable: every Action Skill weaves in chance. Depending on the roll, outcomes can include ally and self buffs, burst damage, and debilitating effects on enemies. Full mechanical details are slated for a later reveal.
