Borderlands 4’s first raid drops: Bloomreaper, UVHM tiers, True Mode
Borderlands 4 has rolled out its first raid boss as part of a free update. Bloomreaper the Invincible headlines a new endgame encounter with a timer-based reward chest and nine new Legendary items to farm. Most high-end drops are tied to Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode (UVHM) and faster completion times. The patch also adds UVHM – Level 6 and a new True Mode difficulty setting. A larger Takedown raid is in development for 2026 as a free update.
How the Bloomreaper raid works

Bloomreaper is a corrupted deity that drags challengers into The Bloom, a vertical arena built around stone pillars suspended over a void. The fight spans multiple phases and emphasizes mobility – grapple-leaping between pillars is essential, and a missed jump means instant death. The “Invincible” tag echoes prior Borderlands raid bosses and is not literal, but players should expect a massive health pool and highly lethal attacks.
Runs are timed and feed into a tiered reward chest – Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum. Your mission tracker shows the remaining time to hit each tier. Class Mods only drop at Silver-tier or higher in UVHM. Achieving Platinum-tier rewards in UVHM guarantees Rainmaker, a new Ripper Sniper Rifle with a large magazine, high fire rate, and a chance to not consume ammo.

Access, requirements, and scaling
To attempt Bloomreaper, you must finish the Borderlands 4 story campaign. There is no strict level requirement, but the update recommends being at the level-50 cap. Health and damage scale to party size and player levels, so expect a punishing fight whether solo or in co-op. Start the mission from the new Raid Board located in Kairos’ major hubs and head to the lair known as The Bloom.
Timed rewards – what each tier means
The raid’s timer determines chest quality. While the exact time thresholds are not disclosed, the structure and conditions are clear. See the quick reference below.

New Legendary loot – full list
The update introduces 9 new Legendaries: five gear pieces and four Class Mods. Most items are tied to Bloomreaper’s reward chest, with stricter conditions in UVHM and at higher tiers.
- Rainmaker – Ripper Sniper Rifle (guaranteed drop for Platinum-tier rewards in UVHM)
- Mantra – Maliwan Shotgun
- Undershield – Vladof Shield
- Urchin – Tediore Ordnance (Grenade)
- Jett-Setter – Ripper Ordnance (Heavy Weapon)
- Misericorde – Siren Class Mod (UVHM Silver-tier or higher)
- Overdriver – Exo-Soldier Class Mod (UVHM Silver-tier or higher)
- Trooper – Gravitar Class Mod (UVHM Silver-tier or higher)
- Lamplighter – Forgeknight Class Mod (UVHM Silver-tier or higher)
More endgame updates in this patch
The same update adds Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode – Level 6, increasing the late-game difficulty ceiling. It also introduces True Mode, a session toggle that scales enemies as if you were in a 4-player party, regardless of actual party size. With True Mode, enemies become tougher, more numerous, and more Badass elites appear. This setting is independent of UVHM and has no effect on 4-player co-op.
Looking ahead: next raid on the horizon
Gearbox outlined plans for an all-new Takedown raid in 2026 as a free update. It is described as a high-challenge gauntlet through a new area with dense enemy waves and fresh boss encounters.
Final takeaway – why it matters
Bloomreaper pushes Borderlands 4’s endgame into true raid territory, tying completion speed to loot quality and rewarding mastery with the guaranteed Rainmaker at the top tier. With UVHM Level 6 and True Mode, players can fine-tune difficulty from solo runs to 1-4 setups – a clear signal that high-skill builds and team coordination will define the meta going forward.
