Tencent Esports Named Oca’s Tech Partner for a Decade, Ecs to Power Events
Tencent Esports and the Olympic Council of Asia have entered a ten-year strategic partnership, shifting their cooperation from event-by-event support to system-level co‑construction across technology, standards, and ecosystem development. Under the agreement, Tencent Esports becomes the OCA’s Official Esports Technology Partner. The move formalizes years of collaboration that helped bring esports from a 2018 Asian Games demonstration to a medal event at the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou. The partnership was cemented via an MOU at the 101st OCA Executive Board Meeting in Bahrain in October 2025. As part of the framework, Yati Zhang, Director of Tencent Esports, has been appointed OCA Esports Manager.

The agreement centers on building unified esports operations within the Asian sports system – from event standards and technical infrastructure to long-term ecosystem development. The stated goal is to deepen integration between esports and traditional sports under shared, sustainable frameworks.
- Official role: Tencent Esports is the Official Esports Technology Partner of the OCA.
- Governance: Appointment of Yati Zhang as OCA Esports Manager to guide event systems and ecosystem growth.
- Scope: Co‑development of technology, standards, and operations for Asian multisport events.

- Continental and global sports bodies – the authoritative platform for governance and recognition.
- National and regional esports strategies – the fulcrum for on‑the‑ground implementation.
