Xbox widens FSE on Windows and brings 1440p to Cloud Gaming
Microsoft detailed a broad set of Xbox platform updates across Windows and the cloud. The full screen experience (FSE) is now available on more Windows handhelds, with a preview rolling out to additional Windows 11 PC form factors via Windows Insider. In the cloud, players gain user-selected resolution – including support up to 1440p on select titles – and access expands to new regions and devices. Xbox also shared progress on Xbox Play Anywhere, Stream your own game, and Retro Classics, plus new additions for mouse‑and‑keyboard and touch controls in the cloud.
The updates focus on practical playability – controller-first navigation on Windows, sharper cloud streams, broader regional coverage, and more ways to access owned games and classics.

Full Screen Experience on more Windows devices
Xbox’s FSE – designed for controller-first, console-style navigation – is now generally available on additional Windows handhelds already on the market. Windows Insiders can also preview FSE on more Windows 11 PC form factors. The interface emphasizes a clean, distraction-free layout with smooth task switching, working across desktop, laptop, and tablet when a controller is paired.

Cloud Gaming updates – quality and reach
User-Selected Resolution up to 1440p

Xbox is introducing a manual resolution selector before launching a cloud session. With enhanced stream quality now supported for select titles – up to 1440p for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers – players can choose the video setting that fits their setup and bandwidth. The feature responds to a long-standing community request for more control over stream quality.
Regional and device expansion

Cloud access continues to broaden:
- India launch – Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available in India, becoming Xbox’s 29th cloud market. Supported devices include Xbox console, PC, handhelds, mobile, and compatible TVs.
- Brazil and Argentina – Cloud gaming is now available on supported LG TVs and Amazon Fire TV devices in both countries. Microsoft notes ongoing server network expansion and partnerships intended to reduce wait times.
- Coming soon – more Fire TV devices: Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, Fire TV Stick 4K Select, Fire TV 4-Series TVs, Fire TV Omni QLED TVs. Availability may vary by region.

The latest Xbox updates emphasize access and control – FSE brings console-style navigation to more Windows devices, cloud streams offer a higher 1440p ceiling with manual selection, and regional/device expansion lowers barriers to entry. Add in wider cross-device entitlements via Xbox Play Anywhere, a growing owned-games streaming catalog, and more input options, and the platform continues to meet players where they are.
