FromSoftware has rolled out App Ver. 1.03.1 for Elden Ring Nightreign on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. The update enhances the Deep of Night mode with a new target for owners of The Forsaken Hollows DLC and adjusts reward scaling. The studio also flagged a known item-loss bug affecting certain DLC cosmetics and unique Relics, with a fix planned to let players recover missing items. Online play requires the update, and console users should verify they have the latest Regulation Ver. 1.03.3.

Deep of Night: what actually changes

The patch makes targeted tweaks to the mode’s boss pool, rewards, and progression scaling. Key points include:

  • New DLC target – an enhanced version of Balancers, Salvation’s Standard-Bearers can now appear as a Deep of Night target if you own The Forsaken Hollows DLC.
  • Ownership requirement for matchmaking – this boss can only appear if matched with players who also own the DLC.
  • More Relics on outcome – the amount of Relics granted on victory/defeat in Deep of Night rises when the target is from The Forsaken Hollows DLC.
  • Scaling adjustment – the rate of increase/decrease applied on victory/defeat is adjusted when the gap between the Expedition depth level and your own exceeds two.

Known issue: missing DLC cosmetics and Relics

FromSoftware reports an ongoing problem in The Forsaken Hollows DLC where some items can disappear:

  • Selected costumes for Scholar and Undertaker may go missing.
  • Unique Relics obtainable only once in the DLC may also disappear.

The developer plans an update to allow re-acquisition of affected items in the near future. Until then, the issue is acknowledged and under investigation.

Why this patch matters

The update deepens Deep of Night by introducing a tougher DLC-only target and by raising Relic payouts tied to DLC encounters, while tuning progression for uneven depth-level matchups. If you play online, make sure your client shows App Ver. 1.03.1 and Regulation Ver. 1.03.3 – and watch for the follow-up fix to restore any missing DLC items.
