Bandai Namco’s free‑to‑play battle royale MY HERO ULTRA RUMBLE has rolled out Season 15 – the game’s first new season of 2026. The update introduces Fumikage Tokoyami as a playable character, debuts a fourth stage called Neo Academia, and delivers multiple gameplay and system adjustments. The studio also outlined balance changes planned for the next season, targeting a few overperforming Battle Styles and a flight‑duration exploit. The announcement comes from producer Yokoyama via the official blog.

New playable: Fumikage Tokoyami

Tokoyami arrives as a flexible pick built to contest fights at multiple ranges by coordinating with Dark Shadow. Key traits include:

  • Long‑range pressure via Quirk Skills α and β while managing Dark Shadow.
  • Mobility with Special Action “Twin Wings of the Black Arm” to move and glide, with the ability to use items while gliding.
  • Gap closing through Special Action “Black Ankh” for instant approach and enhanced melee follow‑ups.
  • Defensive utility from Quirk Skill γ that commands Dark Shadow to block incoming attacks; while active, Tokoyami can use items, open Item Boxes, or rescue allies.
  • Quirk Skill γ can be activated while Downed, enabling limited actions under pressure.

New stage: Neo Academia’s vertical lanes and teleporters

Neo Academia centers on a floating “Sky Area” – an isolated zone that’s harder to disrupt from the ground. To access it, the map introduces a one‑way Teleporter system that instantly moves players to set points. Teleporters become unusable as the Safe Area shrinks over time, making them most impactful in the early‑ to mid‑match. Routing through the Sky Area also enables travel between distant parts of the map.

Beyond the hub, the stage mixes distinct combat pockets:

  • A city slice combining traditional Japanese houses and high‑rises with pronounced height variation.
  • An industrial zone threaded by a complex pipe network.
  • Construction sites that favor easy vertical movement.
  • Spacious hospitals with multi‑level interiors and underground labs.

Gameplay tweaks: aerial combat and item handling

Season 15 ships several quality‑of‑life and combat changes. Item usability has been improved across scenarios. Aerial combat has been adjusted to make attacks easier to execute, and players can now pick up items while taking damage. Full details are outlined in the official patch notes.

Systems update: Step‑Up Roll and ticket changes

The former Costume Pick Up Roll transitions to a Step‑Up Roll with three steps, progressing every 10 Rolls. Step 3 includes a guarantee for one of the featured PUR costumes.

The Character Ticket has been renamed to Battle Style Ticket and now covers more exchange options. Overhaul (Original) is added to eligible items, and the ticket can be exchanged for select “Battle Style: Alternative” items, with more planned over time. Players may convert excess Battle Style Tickets into Hero Souls.

My Room customization expands

Room backgrounds now support deeper personalization: after picking a base, players can customize up to three parts and cycle variations for each, enabling more layouts even from the same backdrop. Additional parts have also been added to backgrounds introduced in Season 14.

Balance watch: overperformers and an airborne exploit

The team flagged several Battle Styles that are stronger than intended and will be adjusted in the next season:

  • Armored All Might – burn damage on Quirk Skill α.
  • Shigaraki Tomura – Quirk Skill α in combination with evasion cancel.
  • Lady Nagant – aerial fighting and Special Action.

Separately, the developers confirmed an issue that can allow characters to remain airborne for extended periods under certain conditions; a fix is targeted for the next season. Producer Yokoyama reiterated that the team is continuing work to keep the experience stable and competitive.

Why it matters: a vertical shake‑up with clear balance goals

Season 15 broadens roster options with Tokoyami’s cooperative Dark Shadow kit and adds a tactical layer via Neo Academia’s Teleporter‑driven routing. With aerial and item‑handling tweaks live now – and targeted balance fixes due next season – players can expect a meta in motion and new ways to navigate and contest the arena.
