Pikmin Bloom’s holiday update adds 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin
Niantic’s Pikmin Bloom is closing out the year with a seasonal in-game event that runs the entire month of December. The update introduces 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin and brings back Ball Ornament and Mitten Decor Pikmin. Event missions, Bizarre Mushrooms, and Mystery Boxes shape the core loop, with several mechanics tweaked for the festive run. The developer also notes a compatibility detail for the new decor to render properly.
Event window and compatibility
The holiday event is live from Dec. 1 at 12:00 a.m. local time to Dec. 31 at 11:59 p.m. local time. For the new decor to display correctly, the app requires version v133 or later.
What’s new and what’s returning
- 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin – introduced for the event and available for Ice Pikmin.
- Ball Ornament Decor Pikmin – returning for this event (not available for Ice Pikmin).
- Mitten Decor Pikmin – also returning (not available for Ice Pikmin).
Event Challenge missions and rewards
Clearing Event Challenge missions grants randomized rewards, which can include Snow Crystals, seedlings that grow into 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin, flower petals, or other items. When the Big Flower at the center of the stage blooms, players receive a guaranteed Gold Seedling in addition to the random rewards.
Seedlings earned from Event Challenge missions can grow into any of the 8 available types of 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin. These are met at random, and completing the entire set is not guaranteed.
Snow Crystals missions and seasonal cosmetics
At the start of the event, missions to collect Snow Crystals become available. Completing these missions can yield seedlings for Mitten Decor Pikmin and seasonal costumes for Mii characters. Snow Crystals can be obtained from Event Challenge rewards, via flower planting, and from Mystery Boxes earned by destroying Bizarre Mushrooms.
Snow Crystals missions disappear after the event, and Snow Crystals have no purpose outside this event.
Bizarre Mushrooms and Mystery Boxes
Players may encounter Bizarre Mushrooms during the event. Destroying them awards Mystery Boxes that can contain Snow Crystals and seedlings for Ball Ornament Decor Pikmin, among other items. The following decor Pikmin have increased effectiveness against these mushrooms during the event:
- 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin
- Ball Ornament Decor Pikmin
- Mitten Decor Pikmin
Additionally, these three decor types are slightly stronger than usual against all mushroom types for the duration of the event.
Bullhorn call timing rules
If a player receives a Mushroom Battle Bullhorn call to a Bizarre Mushroom before the event begins in their timezone, they can still join and will receive a Mystery Box associated with the Holiday Event. If they join a Bizarre Mushroom battle after the event ends in their timezone, no Mystery Box will be granted.
Decor availability by Pikmin type
The table below clarifies which decor variants apply to Ice Pikmin during the event.
| Decor type | Ice Pikmin availability |
| 2025 Ornament Decor Pikmin | Available |
| Ball Ornament Decor Pikmin | Not available |
| Mitten Decor Pikmin | Not available |

Final takeaway – a month-long seasonal loop with clear targets
Pikmin Bloom’s December event focuses on collectible decor, repeatable missions, and mushroom battles, with a Gold Seedling guarantee at Big Flower bloom anchoring progression. If you plan your runs around mission clears and mushroom spawns, you can efficiently chase 2025 Ornament Decor seedlings while the window remains open.
