Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Switch 2 Edition Sets March 26 Launch
Nintendo has announced Super Mario Bros. Wonder – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park, launching on March 26 for the Nintendo Switch 2 system. The update centers on Bellabel Park, a new area in the Flower Kingdom designed for expanded multiplayer and solo challenges. Players can jump into fresh co-op and competitive activities across two dedicated plazas. Local and online play both see notable upgrades, including larger competitive lobbies. Owners of the original Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Switch 2 will be able to access the new content via an upgrade pack.
What Bellabel Park Adds
Bellabel Park introduces two large plazas filled with attractions and minigames. Examples include Fast Cash: Tip Tap’s Coin Spree – a race to gather the most coins – and Knock ‘em Back: Bubble Blaster, where players battle and try to finish with the most lives. The park is positioned as a hub that blends drop-in competition with quick co-op challenges across the Flower Kingdom.
Multiplayer Layouts: Couch to Online
The Local Multiplayer Plaza features 17 attraction types, playable with up to three friends on the same system. The edition also supports GameShare, letting one owner locally share the game session with up to three additional players.
For larger groups, Game Room Plaza supports online and local wireless play, with each participant on their own system. Up to 12 friends can compete in the plaza’s six additional attractions, scaling Wonder’s party play far beyond standard couch co-op.
New Modes, Characters and Enemies
- Toad Brigade Training Camp – Skill trials set in courses from Super Mario Bros. Wonder, with more training routes unlocking as you progress through the main game. Play solo or with up to three other players to climb Toad Brigade ranks.
- Assist Mode – Optional safety nets for newcomers and casual sessions, including the ability to quickly recover from pit falls without losing a life or avoid taking damage regardless of character.
- Rosalina and Co‑Star Luma – Rosalina debuts in the Flower Kingdom, while Luma joins as an assist character when at least two players are present. Luma does not take damage and can spin to defeat enemies and collect coins. Luma also supports mouse control on Nintendo Switch 2.
- Koopalings encounter battles – After treasure is stolen from Bellabel Park, the seven Koopalings scatter across the Flower Kingdom. Discovering one triggers a dedicated course and a boss battle.
